About
7 Maple Design.
A design and remodel company founded in Madeira, Ohio in February of 2018.

Owner and founder
Design should start with a conversation, not a catalog.
Lora Short started 7 Maple Design in February of 2018, driven by a passion for antiques and a conviction that beautiful spaces are within reach for far more people than the industry suggests. She works primarily in residential interiors, offering both full project design and à la carte services for clients who want expert guidance on their own terms.
Every home she touches begins with listening. What you love, how you live, what the space needs to do for your family. From there, Lora brings together the found and the new, the practical and the unexpected, until the room feels unmistakably yours.
No two projects look alike, because no two clients do.

What happens at the first meeting?
We walk the space, talk about how you actually live in it, review your inspiration, and set the budget and timeline expectations. You leave with a clear sense of scope and next steps.
What deliverables do I get?
Depending on scope: 2D and 3D mockups, a furniture plan, finish and material selections, a lighting plan, a shopping list with sources, and specification sheets your contractor can build from.
Do you manage the contractor?
Yes, I have contractors on staff, but am happy to work with client preferred contractors.
How involved do I need to be?
As involved as you want. Some clients want to approve every selection, others want three curated options and a recommendation. Both work as long as we agree on it early.
Can we phase the project over time?
Yes, and it is often the smart move. A master plan built up front means phase three still works with phase one, instead of three disconnected rooms.
What is your design style?
The work should look like the client, not like me. What runs through every project is a respect for craft, a love of pieces with history, and rooms that hold up rather than date.
